I thought it was a joke at first. A stupid AI generated video that somehow had been mistaken as real by the News. The video was vertical, didn’t keep the president in the frame the whole time and looked like it was captured on a cheap smart phone. You could clearly hear the cameraman breathing hard over the rest of the audio, making it hard to hear what was being said. It seemed like a nothing-burger speech, except at the end, the president has the secret service people next to him drag out Elon and his family while they’re screaming and wailing; he smiles, says “you’re fired” and even though I daydreamed about it, watched in horror as Elon died on video. The round of applause at the end sounded like it was from the price is right; I swear I can hear the theme music in there. The video ends with a close up of Trumps orange face, with a big foam thumbs up that clearly says, “You keep what you kill.”
The next day, it’s like all the social media sites were stuck on yesterday. Trying to sign up for a new account on X didn’t work. My FaceBook account wasn’t letting me post anything new and Paetron apparently forgot to pay their dns registrar. I brushed it off as a coincidence.
After two days, all of the major news stations went off the air. Text messages stopped working and so did all the ATMs near by.
On day three, all the radio stations began broadcasting the same thing. It sounded like someone butt dialed the station and was just mumbling a bunch of nonsense. After a few hours it became clear it was on a loop.
The loop ended with, “See, I just had Elon, his kid and his baby mama all killed. Now everything they used to own is now mine. I killed them and no one saying that I didn’t.”
I must have listened to the loop 3 or 4 times, before I starting hearing gunfire in the distance, then closer.
There was a flash in the sky and I’m afraid I won’t be able to hear what comes next.
